The Rev. Jack Fleming, Interim Rector

The Rev. Jack Fleming is the Interim Rector of St. Mary’s.   Originally from St. Louis, Jack and his wife, Tricia, are greatly enjoying Crystal Lake. He will be leading ministry and mission development at St. Mary’s for the next two years (through 2014).  Jack brings many years of leadership experience both in and out of the church; a former city high school principal and a college vice-president and Dean, he holds a B.A. in philosophy from Glennon College, and a Master's degree in Education and Counseling from Washington University in St. Louis.  His theology and ministry formation include studies at Kenrick Seminary, Catholic University, the University of the South in Sewanee, TN, and Oxford University in Oxford England.  He has been Deputy to the General Convention of the Episcopal Church (twice), and is an avid student of Celtic spirituality and the Emerging Church Movement.

The Rev. Barbara E. Bishop, Deacon Pastoral Assistant

The Rev. Barbara E. Bishop ("Dn. Barb") is Deacon Pastoral Assistant at St. Mary's, Crystal. Barb received a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Education from Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, West Virginia. She received Master's degree in Christian Education from the Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard, Illinois. After graduation she was called to serve as the Director of Religious Education for the Redford Baptist Church, a large suburban congregation in northwest Detroit, Michigan.

The Rev. Diane L. Koenig, Deacon Pastoral Assistant

Coming into the Episcopal Church at the age of nine, the Reverend Diane L. Koenig has her church roots in the Diocese of Northern Indiana. After many years of being both very active and inactive in the Church, Diane finally stepped into the Deacon Formation Program of the Diocese of Chicago – thus following a “persistent nudge” of many years toward ordained ministry. Deacon Diane was ordained on February 7, 1998, after having completed the three-year Deacon Formation Program of the Diocese of Chicago.
